Since I've started working for myself, and like many others who are self-employed, I've started frequenting Leeds' coffee shops and cafés a lot more. I put a fair amount of thought into which of Leeds' coffee shops and cafés I visit - if you've read any of my foodie posts before or are aware of my business, Leeds Food Tours (no apologies for the shameless plug), you'll know that supporting small, independent businesses is high on my agenda. As a result, you're unlikely to find me in a Starbucks, Costa or Caffè Nero. Here's my thoughts on Leeds' best coffee shops and cafés, based in the city centre.

Leeds Light Night is the largest arts and lights festival in the UK! Over two nights (10th and 11th of October 2019), the city will be illuminated by 70 different artworks, installations and performances put together by artists from all over the world. The landmarks and buildings that we know and love will be transformed into works of art, from the Leeds Civic Hall in Millennium Square, to Victoria Gardens outside the Town Hall, to a 35 metre stretch of street over at the Southbank. I do my food shopping at Leeds Kirkgate Market, I choose independent restaurants over chains, I enjoy plenty of Yorkshire produce from mayonnaise brands to beer, and I love shopping in Leeds' Corn Exchange!

As I write this post I am completely and utterly content. I'm relaxing on my oh-so-comfy sofa in bunny PJs, with a stomach so full of sushi that I can hardly move. Sushi is my favourite food, so if I'm writing that somewhere does the best sushi in Leeds, I really have to mean it! Cue Blue Sakura, an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant in the arena quarter of Leeds. When I found out that such a place had opened, I eagerly awaited the next time that a hangover, a sushi craving and a bottomless appetite would grace my presence.
