The Best Foodie Subscription Boxes

The Best Foodie Subscription Boxes

Leeds
Recently I tried Brozen Box, an indulgent gelato subscription box, and had just as much (well, almost as much) fun making gelato as I did eating it. It also got me thinking about the best foodie subscription boxes in the UK - the ones I've tried, the ones I've gifted and the ones that I'm desperate to try. Let me tell you about my recent experience of Brozen Box, and then share the best foodie subscription boxes in the UK that I've found.

The Best Lockdown Wines: What to Drink and Where Online to Buy …

Leeds
I think it's safe to say that we've all been drinking a bit more at home recently, right? Without being able to go to the pub, but with the sun still shining almost every weekend, I've really enjoyed drinking wine at home. With so much choice out there and so many places to buy your lockdown wine, I wanted to share the best wine I've drunk during lockdown and the best places to buy them.

Hi, I'm Nell. I’m a Leeds based travel blogger creating content to inspire you to make the most of your weekends, limited annual leave and hard-earned cash by writing about part-time, mid-budget travel. Here you'll find posts about city breaks, hiking trips and tales of food and wine.

How to Spice Up Your Daily Lockdown Exercise Walk

How to Spice Up Your Daily Lockdown Exercise Walk

Leeds
Hands up if your daily, government approved walk has become an integral part of your life? I'm acting as if my daily walk is the most important part of my day and that if I miss it a) the government might take it away; or b) the world will end. I'm appreciating the canal towpath near by flat like I never have before! Here's how I've been keeping myself entertained on my daily walk.

7 Ways to Cheer Someone Up During Lockdown

Leeds
It's a tough time right now, and one of the many worries that lots of us have is how our loved ones are coping during this pandemic and whether there's anything we can do to cheer them up during lockdown. Of course if someone is really struggling with their mental health, you should encourage them to seek medical advice or counselling. However, if your loved ones are feeling a bit down, anxious, bored or lonely here are a few small things you could do to cheer them up.

Practicing Gratitude During Coronavirus Lockdown: What I’m Grateful For

I'm still going on my series of Coronavirus blog posts - because what else is there to do right now? So far I've talked about positive journalling, looking after your mental health and things to do at home. Well practising gratitude during Coronavirus lockdown ties in with all of those posts - it's helps you to remain positive, it's great for mental health and it gives you something to do! To lift my spirits and hopefully yours, here are some things that I'm grateful for during the current Coronavirus lockdown.
Getting Itchy Feet? Virtual Travel Experiences to Keep You Entertained During Lockdown

Getting Itchy Feet? Virtual Travel Experiences to Keep You Entertained During Lockdown

Leeds
I started this blog post by researching virtual travel experiences across loads of different websites, watching videos to see what was out there and compiling a big old list. And then I realised that actually, good old Google seems to be pretty much all you need to travel across the globe from your armchair. Honestly, Google has virtual travel down! Google Earth has vastly improved since it's early days, and Google Arts and Culture lets you visit museums, art galleries, famous landmarks and even national parks.
Staying Positive During Coronavirus – Positivity Journaling

Staying Positive During Coronavirus – Positivity Journaling

Leeds
In my last blog post about looking after your mental health during Coronavirus, I mentioned that I've been finding journaling helpful in maintaining my mental health over the last couple of weeks and staying positive during Coronavirus. In particular, I said that when I'm feeling anxious or stressed I use one page of my journal to list the things that are bothering me, and the opposite page to list two positives for every negative. If you look after your own mental health and work on remaining positive during Coronavirus, you'll be able to pass the positivity on to other people and it will spread to those who need it even more than you do.
10 Things to Do at Home During Coronavirus – Making the Most of Lockdown

10 Things to Do at Home During Coronavirus – Making the Most of Lockdown

Leeds
I'm jumping on the bandwagon a bit here with a 'things to do at home during Coronavirus lockdown' post, but the more ideas out there the better in my opinion! In the current climate, staying home is the best thing that you can do for the health of the country (unless of course you are a key worker, thank you guys for keeping the country running!). So why not shift that mindset from 'I'm not allowed outside' to 'I get to stay home with a nice cup of tea' and make the most of your time? Try to see it as a positive: not only are you pretty much saving the world just by staying at home, but you have so much time to do things you might not usually have the chance to do!
How to Look After Your Mental Health During Coronavirus

How to Look After Your Mental Health During Coronavirus

Leeds
It's not an easy time for anyone right now! Regardless of whether or not you struggle with your mental health, most people must be experiencing some level of anxiety and low mood right now. I'm by no means an expert in mental health, but I do feel like I'm handling the current Coronavirus situation better than I expected, and far better than I would have done a year or two ago.
Self-Isolating? Give Yourself a Break and Have a Holiday at Home

Self-Isolating? Give Yourself a Break and Have a Holiday at Home

leeds
It's pretty hard to think of something to write about when your blog content is pretty much all travel, and none of us can travel at the moment! I'm going to keep creating travel content ready for when things are back to normal, but in the mean time I thought it might be nice if we all had a holiday at home. Have I gone mad? Probably. Is it possible to enjoy self-isolation and change your mindset so that you can have a holiday without leaving the house? I reckon so!
