Hi, I’m Nell, a Leeds based travel blogger creating content to inspire busy, young professionals to make the most of their weekends, limited annual leave and hard-earned cash by writing about part-time, mid-budget travel. I do this through promoting destinations that my audience may not have considered previously, for example Cluj-Napoca, Vilnius or Sofia, or encouraging them to enjoy a well-known destination in their own way, such as Venice or Lanzarote.
My favourite way to experience and understand a destination is through the local food and drink (I’m particularly fond of a glass of local wine or two). Not only does it help you understand the culture and promote sustainable tourism by eating and drinking at independent restaurants who make the most of local ingredients, it also provides an opportunity to engage with the locals and other travellers. Understanding culinary traditions and the stories behind them is my favourite part of travelling!
I write mostly about short breaks so indulgence is absolutely encouraged as travel is very much a treat – so have that extra dumpling, order a dessert and don’t feel guilty about drinking another glass of wine! You can read about some of my favourite foodie travel experiences here:

As well as city breaks, I love to hike and take an annual trip with my Dad where we’ll enjoy a long-distance walk such as the GR20, Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn or the Spaghetti Tour. Writing about these trips is very close to my heart because it’s a special time spent with my Dad, who is my absolute hero.
When I’m not scrolling through Skyscanner to find my next cheap weekend away or saving up for a new pair of hiking boots, you’ll find me enjoying my home city of Leeds. I’m passionate about supporting independent businesses, so I’ll likely be shopping in Leeds Kirkgate Market or enjoying a meal (usually sushi) in one of the city’s incredible independent restaurants.
I love working with brands that relate to my blog and my audience, and have had the opportunity to work with some great tourism boards, hotels and experience providers. Most recently these have included Visit Ljubljana, Hamburg Tourism Board, Spanish Tourist Office, National Express and Leeds Cookery School.
