The Man Behind The Curtain: A Review

The Man Behind The Curtain: A Review

Leeds
Before I get into this post I have to admit that I don't have many pictures to share. As it was a once in a lifetime kind of meal, I wanted to fully immerse myself in the experience rather than worry about getting the right shot of each of the 14 (yes, 14!!!) courses. Sometimes you just have to enjoy the moment.
What to Expect on the GR20

What to Expect on the GR20

Corsica
I'm going to start this post of with a bold statement: the GR20 is the best hike I've done. I've loved the Spaghetti Tour in the Italian Alps, Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn, Hardrians Wall, the Coast to Coast, the West Highland Way, but the GR20 is the one that really takes my breath away whenever I think about it. It's absolutely not an easy walk, in fact it's the most difficult one I've done, but this post will tell you what to expect on the GR20 with the hope that you give it a go yourself.

Hi, I'm Nell. I’m a Leeds based travel blogger creating content to inspire you to make the most of your weekends, limited annual leave and hard-earned cash by writing about part-time, mid-budget travel. Here you'll find posts about city breaks, hiking trips and tales of food and wine.

A Yorkshire Adventure to White Scar Cave

A Yorkshire Adventure to White Scar Cave

Ingleborough
Yorkshire is perfect for a day out, whether you're entertaining the kids, spending time with a partner or having a solo adventure! There is so much beautiful countryside and a million things to do. This weekend Billy and I visited White Scar Cave in Ingleborough, North Yorkshire. My Christmas present to Billy this year was 'a year of fun', which has consisted of me planning a day out/activity/event to do together once a month for the next year. This was January's treat and an attraction that I would highly recommend to anyone.
A Tapas Trail Through the Best Restaurants in Playa Blanca

A Tapas Trail Through the Best Restaurants in Playa Blanca

Lanzarote
new year. Although I'm not the biggest fan of new year's eve, I LOVE new years day! I can't think of a better way to spend the first day of the year than sat in the sunshine with a glass of cold, crisp, white wine accompanied by endless tapas from some of the best restaurants in Playa Blanca. The ultimate way to experience this is by embarking on a 'tapas trail'. For me this involves walking from Billy's parents' house in Las Coloradas along the winding sea path to Playa Blanca's Marina Rubicon, stopping at as many places as possible in the marina for a tapas or two and, of course, a glass of wine.
5 Reasons To Love Leeds Kirkgate Market

5 Reasons To Love Leeds Kirkgate Market

Leeds
Whether I'm at home or travelling, I do my best to support the local economy by shopping with local businesses and eating at independent restaurants. If I can get a bargain at the same time, I'm even happier! This is one of the main reasons that Leeds Kirkgate Market is my favourite thing about living in Leeds.
A Day Out in London and Some Fabulous Dim Sum

A Day Out in London and Some Fabulous Dim Sum

London
After spending a few festive days with my family in Buckinghamshire, I took the opportunity to spend the day being a tourist in London on my way back up to Leeds. With so much to see and do in this wonderful (and somewhat overwhelming) city, the hardest part was actually planning the day and, of course, where to have lunch!
The Restaurant You Have To Visit in Budapest

The Restaurant You Have To Visit in Budapest

Budapest
Budapest isn't the kind of place that I would have thought to visit for the restaurant scene, and someone had even told me that the food was the least favourite part of their trip when they visited. But every single meal I had during my long weekend in Budapest was excellent. There was one restaurant in particular that blew me away, so here's me raving about it.
The Perfect Birthday in Budapest

The Perfect Birthday in Budapest

Budapest
I take my birthday very seriously, after all it's the one day that I can make all about me. As mine and Billy's birthdays are very close to each other we usually go away somewhere to celebrate both, although I make it very clear that on my actual birthday that day is mine - the rest of the holiday is for both of us. So last year we headed to Budapest, for no reason other than we saw a really good deal on Voyage Privé. However, it turns out there are loads of things to do in Budapest!
A Hunt for the Best Sushi in Leeds

A Hunt for the Best Sushi in Leeds

Leeds
I love sushi, I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day and not get sick of it (I think). It's also my go-to hangover food, which a lot of people find odd, but the freshness of the fish, the stodgy rice and the salty soy sauce offer the perfect combination for recovering from having one too many. I also love Leeds and everything it has to offer, but recently the sushi game in this wonderful city is starting to lack. Here's why:
Hong Kong: Things to Do (Part 2)

Hong Kong: Things to Do (Part 2)

Hong Kong
Let's pick up where we left off in part 1 of my Hong Kong itinerary, where I spoke about my first three days exploring Stanley, Central, the Zoological Gardens, Victoria Peak, Lantau, Mong Kok, Tsim Sha Tsui and the night markets. Here's what I got up to on days 4 - 6 to give you even more suggestions of things to do in Hong Kong!
Hong Kong: An Itinerary (Part 1)

Hong Kong: An Itinerary (Part 1)

Hong Kong
Hong Kong had never really been on my bucket list, rather I spontaneously agreed to a trip there whilst under the influence of one too many gin and tonics. This meant that I didn't know much about Hong Kong and what my my itinerary would be when I got there. I'd be travelling with my close friend Aliss so, once flights were booked, we spent many a Sunday afternoon in the pub discussing what we wanted to see and do during our trip and getting increasingly excited. Our only problem? How on earth would we fit everything in to just six days?!
