Discovering Michelin Star Chefs At Pub in The Park

Discovering Michelin Star Chefs At Pub in The Park

Leeds
I love a food festival, and I love street food. Equally, I love a fancy pants Michelin Star restaurant. So when I saw that Tom Kerridge was holding his Pub in the Park event in Roundhay Park, Leeds, I'm sure you can imagine my excitement! The event brings together award-winning food, Michelin-starred chefs and live-music for a day of, in my opinion, heaven. It's the perfect opportunity to discover world-class, British restaurants without having to book a table months in advance and save up your hard-earned cash for one evening of luxury.
Ultimate Guide to Walking the West Highland Way

Ultimate Guide to Walking the West Highland Way

Scotland
The West Highland Way is a long distance walk that runs through the Scottish Highlands, from Milngavie (just north of Glasgow) to Fort William and takes just over a week. The route is 151km/ 96 miles long and offers a variety of landscapes including lakes, mountains and moors. Although long, it's not a hugely difficult walk and there are no technical sections so its achievable for most walkers. It's well marked out as well so perfect for when I distract my Dad from his navigation with my incessant chatter.

Things To Do In Helmsley, North Yorkshire

Helmsley
I might be a little biased, but everyone knows that Yorkshire is the best county, right? It has buzzing cities, pretty market towns, beautiful countryside, friendly folk and great beer. And we can't forget Yorkshire puddings! Hemsley is one of my favourite places in Yorkshire to visit for a weekend: it's a market town in the North Yorkshire Moors National park and full of cosy pubs but with plenty of other things to entertain you too. Here are my top things to do in Helmsley, North Yorkshire.
5 Things That Surprised Me in Gran Canaria

5 Things That Surprised Me in Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria
Last month I spent a week in Gran Canaria with my boyfriend and his family. The aim of the game was simply to relax: days around the pool, walks along the beach and a lot of barbecues! I soon realised that Gran Canaria had much more too it than I first thought, and was full of surprises. In honour of that, here are five things that surprised me the most.
What to Pack for Glacier Hiking in the Alps

What to Pack for Glacier Hiking in the Alps

I started writing this post prior to my recent glacier hiking trip to the Alps whilst I was packing, and I'm so glad that I didn't finish it as I got my packing COMPLETELY WRONG. I packed far too much, missed off a couple of essential items and made my bag too heavy for lugging up mountains. If you're off on a glacier hiking trip, here's what you need to pack.
10 Things I Learnt on The Spaghetti Tour

10 Things I Learnt on The Spaghetti Tour

Zermatt
I've just returned from the Alps on a version of what is known as the Spaghetti Tour. It’s named as such because although it starts and ends in Switzerland, most nights are spent in Italy eating generous portions of, you guessed it, spaghetti (actually just general pasta, we didn’t have any spaghetti). So I’m sharing 10 things I learnt on the Spaghetti Tour, from how to safely walk on glaciers to several toilet related learnings.
Mountain Huts: What To Expect and How to Survive

Mountain Huts: What To Expect and How to Survive

Zermatt
Mountain huts are a completely unique experience. Usually they are simply a necessity - if you want to hike, climb or ski in remote areas there might not be any other kind of accommodation available, but you don't want to miss out on these incredible locations. They're not to everyone's taste, but they do have their benefits - you just need to know what to expect and have a few tricks up your sleeve to make them more enjoyable!
Shopping in Leeds’ Corn Exchange

Shopping in Leeds’ Corn Exchange

Leeds
Supporting local businesses is high on my list of values. I do this when I'm travelling, seeking out family-run restaurants and eating local produce, and the same goes at home when I'm eating, drinking and shopping in Leeds. I do my food shopping at Leeds Kirkgate Market, I choose independent restaurants over chains, I enjoy plenty of Yorkshire produce from mayonnaise brands to beer, and I love shopping in Leeds' Corn Exchange!
Taste Meson: A Shining Example of Gran Canarian Cuisine

Taste Meson: A Shining Example of Gran Canarian Cuisine

Gran Canaria
Thank goodness we walked past Taste Meson on a walk along the seafront in our nearest town! Overlooking the bay in the centre of Arguineguin, Taste Meson is a small plate restaurant designed to showcase local produce. It’s more of a fine dining style of eating than the tapas style that you might expect from a small plate restaurant in this part of the world, but the atmosphere is definitely holiday dining rather than anything fancy.
Eating and Drinking in Trento, Trentino

Eating and Drinking in Trento, Trentino

Trento, Italy
Whether or not you’ve been to Italy, it’s no secret that the food is great. If we were playing a game of word association, I bet food would be the first word that comes to mind if someone were to say “Italy”. Well, last week I visited Trento and my tastebuds can confirm that the rumours are all true!
