Where A Year of Blogging Has Taken Me

Where A Year of Blogging Has Taken Me

Leeds
It's been a year since I published my first blog post on Adventures with Nell, so of course I had to write a little anniversary post. I know it's a bit of a cliché to write one of these posts, and it's even more of a cliché to say what I'm about to say, but it's so true and has to be done: I can't believe what a difference my blog has made to my life! So let me have this cliché and waffle on about how blogging has changed my life (if you read on you'll see that it has literally changed my life) over the last twelve months.

My Blogging Journey So Far: 5 Months In

Leeds
Can you believe it's been over 5 months since I launched Adventures with Nell?! It took about two years of saying that I wanted to start a blog to actually give it a go, mainly because I didn't know how to set it up, maintain it or what the hell I'd actually write about. To be completely honest I still have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm enjoying the steep learning curve and hugely excited to continue to develop my skills and my writing style.

Hi, I'm Nell. I’m a Leeds based travel blogger creating content to inspire you to make the most of your weekends, limited annual leave and hard-earned cash by writing about part-time, mid-budget travel. Here you'll find posts about city breaks, hiking trips and tales of food and wine.

I don't write about mental health. It's not because I'm ashamed or embarrassed by my experiences of it, it's just that it's not something I want to write about - I'd much rather share exciting travel stories and wonderful food experiences with you. And although I've struggled with quite severe depression in the past, my mental health is, most of the time, not too bad. So why on earth am I writing about it now?

Holy SH*T: A Beginner’s Guide to Underground Pro Wrestling

All I knew about wrestling was that it's choreographed (which I thought meant fake) and that men wearing lycra had to throw each other around a ring and pin their opponent to the floor for 3 seconds to win. It turns out there's so much more to it, and actually it's a really fun night out that I would highly recommend! Here's my beginners guide to Underground Pro Wrestling for those who want an unusual night out in Leeds and want to know what to expect.
Welcome to Adventures with Nell

Welcome to Adventures with Nell

Welcome to Adventures with Nell and my first EVER blog post. I’m finally taking the plunge after wanting to start this blog for a very long time (we’re talking years), and to be honest with you I’m pretty terrified! So I’ll start with a little about me to get into the swing of things.
