Yorkshire is perfect for a day out, whether you're entertaining the kids, spending time with a partner or having a solo adventure! There is so much beautiful countryside and a million things to do. This weekend Billy and I visited White Scar Cave in Ingleborough, North Yorkshire. My Christmas present to Billy this year was 'a year of fun', which has consisted of me planning a day out/activity/event to do together once a month for the next year. This was January's treat and an attraction that I would highly recommend to anyone. 

Whether I'm at home or travelling, I do my best to support the local economy by shopping with local businesses and eating at independent restaurants. If there's something in it for me too (a good bargain, great quality produce) then I'm even happier! On that note, let me introduce you to my favourite place in Leeds: Leeds Kirkgate Market.

After spending a few festive days with my family in Buckinghamshire, I took the opportunity to spend the day being a tourist in London on my way back up to Leeds. With so much to see and do in this wonderful (and somewhat overwhelming) city, the hardest part was actually planning the day and, of course, where to have lunch!

I love sushi, I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day and not get sick of it (I think). It's also my go-to hangover food, which a lot of people find odd, but the freshness of the fish, the stodgy rice and the salty soy sauce offer the perfect combination for recovering from having one too many. We are absolutely spoilt for restaurants in Leeds. Whichever cuisine you fancy and whatever your budget, the issue is never finding a suitable place to dine but rather deciding between the endless options. On top of that, there seems to be somewhere new opening every week, so even when you think you've tried it all you're suddenly no longer an expert. To help with matters, I've come up with a list of my favourite Leeds restaurants. If you're visiting for the weekend or you're hungry and can't decide where to eat, read on!

Any of you who have family, especially parents, that don't live in the same part of the country, or even world, as you will have experienced the stress of trying to find something to do when they come to visit. Often you might have a parent who wants to visit some museums and understand the history of where you live, whilst the other parent wants to explore the countryside. And then throw in a sister/boyfriend/cousin/grandmother who would rather just go to the pub and it can be rather tricky!
