Walking holidays are only enjoyable if a) you're fit enough (it's no fun if you're struggling up hills and longing for the end of the day so that you can rest your legs) and b) you have the right kit. The right kit will literally mean the difference between a multi-day hike being a challenge or a holiday. Here are my hiking essentials.
This post is about a trip from a while ago, 2 and a half years ago to be specific, but it feels important to include it on my blog because it's quite possibly the best holiday I've ever been on. Incase you haven't heard of the GR20, it's a two week hike along the 'backbone' of Corsica, most commonly walked from north to south. If you're thinking about hiking the GR20, or are considering an active holiday but aren't sure where to go, read on to find out what you can expect!

This weekend Billy and I had a day out to White Scar Cave in Ingleborough, North Yorkshire. As a Christmas present to Billy I created a year of fun, which has consisted of me planning a day out/activity/event etc. to do together once a month for the next year... Well this was January's treat! If you're looking for a day out in Yorkshire and a great place to eat afterwards, read on!
Each year my dad and I make time for a hiking holiday together. This is our daddy-daughter time, and as I'm in Leeds and he's in Buckinghamshire it serves as a much needed catch up. This year we spent a week in the Alps, walking from Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn. If you're thinking about visiting Switzerland for an outdoor adventure, please read on!
