Southwold holds many happy memories for me: as a kid I'd spend almost every October half term there on bike rides and in the arcade, and as a teenager weekends there would revolve around chasing boys and wangling invites to beach parties. Now as an adult (sort of!) I don't visit very often, but when I do I'm reminded of what a happy and wonderful place it is. Here's my guide to how to spend a weekend in Southwold.
This weekend Billy and I had a day out to White Scar Cave in Ingleborough, North Yorkshire. As a Christmas present to Billy I created a year of fun, which has consisted of me planning a day out/activity/event etc. to do together once a month for the next year... Well this was January's treat! If you're looking for a day out in Yorkshire and a great place to eat afterwards, read on!

A couple of weeks ago my parents visited me in Leeds for the weekend. This usually consists of lots of eating and drinking, but also a day out exploring Yorkshire. After thinking long and hard about where to take them, I eventually suggested getting the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway steam train from Keighley to Haworth. We would wander cobbled streets, visit the Brontë museum and enjoy the Yorkshire countryside.
